Today, we shine the spotlight on Adegoke Mary Oreoluwa, a true embodiment of this Chrisland legacy! Mary began her journey at Chrisland School Opebi and later at Chrisland High School Ikeja, where she thrived both academically and in extracurricular activities. Her leadership skills shone through as she served as Social Prefect at Chrisland School Opebi and later as Sports Prefect at Chrisland High School Ikeja. A true sports enthusiast, she captained the volleyball team at CHSI and was a key member of the relay team at CSO, showcasing the well-rounded education Chrisland is known for. With a solid foundation from Chrisland Schools, Mary continued to soar. In 2024, she graduated with a First-Class degree in Human Kinetics (with a major in Exercise Physiology from the University of Lagos—Nigeria’s University of First Choice! Beyond academics, she made a significant impact at UNILAG, serving as Director of the Impact Leaders Club (Membership Unit, UNILAG Chapter) and contributing as an NGO Research Volunteer at The Neo Child Initiative. Reflecting on her journey, Mary shared: “Chrisland School provided me with the all-round education and exposure I needed to thrive. It equipped me with the skills to balance my interests—volunteering with NGOs, engaging in leadership initiatives, and actively participating in co-curricular activities. From Primary to Secondary School, Chrisland nurtured my potential, helping me excel in academics, sports, and leadership. ![]() Oluwatoniloba Toyobo attended Chrisland School Opebi between 2008 and 2014 where right from a tender age, her poise and leadership skills were discovered and ultimately, she became the Head Girl of the school. She proceeded to Chrisland College Idimu where her brilliance and outstanding leadership skills earned her the position of the College’s Assistant Head Girl. Known for her respectful yet firm demeanour, Toni effortlessly won the hearts of her peers and educators with her soft-spoken charm and easy-going nature. During her stay at CCI, she distinguished herself as an exceptionally gifted learner, winning several laurels for the school. Oluwatoniloba was part of the Chrisland team that represented Nigeria at the 2019 Trust Sustainable Living Essay Competition in Canada in 2019. Ms Toyobo, graduated in 2020 as the second best-graduating student in her set, winning the best-behaved graduating student (girl) award, among other honours. Similarly, she also had the best SAT result of her set. Her lifelong dream of becoming a computer scientist was nurtured from a young age, and upon leaving college, it soared to new heights. Today, that dream has blossomed into reality as she proudly holds a degree in Computer Science and Certification in Data Science from Georgia State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude (The US equivalent of a First-Class Honours). During her time at the University, Oluwatoniloba Toyobo served as Secretary of Mission, Brain; Vice President of the Honor Student Organization, and President of the National Society of Black Engineers. She was also the Student Assistant for Women LEAD. Ms Toyobo plans to pursue a career in Software Engineering or Data Science. ![]() Mbaraonye Ncheta Evans of Chrisland High School VGC has won the Sidmach Prize after emerging as the overall best candidate in the May/June 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Lagos State. The award was presented today at the 2024 Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Lagos IT Conference and Awards. Evans was the Deputy Head Boy of Chrisland High School VGC. He followed the footsteps of three alumni of Chrisland High School VGC; Damilola Bolarin the third overall best candidate in WASSCE 2015 in Lagos State, Michelle Adeagbo, who was the second overall best and best female candidate in WASSCE 2018 in Nigeria and also Kasim Haneefa, the second overall best candidate in WASSCE 2020 in Lagos State. Olutomilayo Kuti graduated from Chrisland School Ladipo Oluwole Ikeja in 2014 & Chrisland College Idimu in 2020. A steadfast leader and distinguished scholar. She was the Head Girl of Chrisland College Idimu for the 2019/2020 academic session. She was also elected, Secretary General at the Nigerian International Secondary Schools Model United Nations (NISSMUN) Conference in 2018. Olutomilayo was an all-rounder who excelled in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities. During her time in Chrisland Schools, she was a consummate sportswoman and a wholesome scholar. For her artistic endeavours, she received an award as the Best Visual Art Student in Year 12 and was the Overall Sports Girl at Chrisland College Idimu. She was also the Best Public Speaker during her days at the college. Olutomilayo's impressive record showcases her exceptional leadership, academic excellence, artistic talent, and sports prowess. Her achievements serve as a testament to her dedication and hard work.
