From the Head of School’s desk
“ Learning is about
the joy of discovery and mastery of meeting challenges.
Learning is the gift of self-determination, a
gift for your mind, body, and spirit… the
gift you need to make your dreams happen”.
Jacqueline Shiff
Identifying your child’s
preferred learning style will help you develop
an educational understanding that is the most
effective for your child.
Experts have identified
three basic learning styles:
>>Auditory learners
grasp by talking, have things explained orally
and may have trouble understanding written instructions.
These learners may talk to themselves when learning
something new.
>>Visual
learners easily remember visual details and prefer
to see what they are learning. They prefer to
write down instructions and may have trouble following
lecturers.
>>Kinesthetic
or tactile learners prefer activities that allow
them to do what they are learning about. Tactile
learners like to touch things in order to learn
about them and like to move around when talking
or listening.
Education has become a global affair
and therefore it is imperative to keep informed
with change. As educators, it is our duty to identify
and understand the needs of each and every learner
in the classroom. Understanding the needs of individual
learners guide the educators towards a more productive
and satisfactory teaching and learning experience
for the child.
The main task of educators is to
encourage learners to operate to their fullest
potential. Educators play a leading role in the
implementation of individualized teaching and
learning programmes that will enable learners
to strive towards academic excellence.
At Chrisland, we as educators make a special effort
to keep in touch with the changing world. We continuously
investigate and implement new and different way
and methods of teaching and learning to ensure
quality education in our school.
Relatively a young school, Chrisland High School
already has proven to be a leader and winner in
