The school year is divided into three
terms running from September to July. Three weeks
holiday are usually given at Christmas and Easter.
All gazetted public holidays are also observed
by the school. Parents are given notices of these
and other terminal holidays.
ACADEMICS
Chrisland Nursery and Primary schools effectively
combines the British and Nigerian curriculum in
a way that accords the children qualitative education
with global relevance. Our programs caters for
the special needs of the young in our care.
Six learning areas at the
Nursery stage
At the Nursery stage, the six learning areas are:
Numeracy, Literacy, Personal Social Development,
Knowledge and understanding of the of the world,
physical development and creative development.
In all, premium is placed on learning and cultivation
of etiquette and manners.
Subjects taught at the primary
level are Literacy, Numeracy, Geography, History,
Social Studies, Vocational Aptitude, Moral Instruction,
Primary Science, Current Affairs, Yoruba, Igbo,
Hausa, French, Physical and Health Education,
Art and Crafts, Music, Home Economics and ICT.
ASSESSMENT
Pupils are graded using the result of the Continuous
Assessment Scores (CAS) and the results of the
exams administered at the end of each term. The
CAS is comprised of the scores in home assignments,
class work, class tests and projects, constituting
40% of each term score while the terminal exam
accounts for 60%.
Remedial classes are held for challenged pupils
in both nursery and primary classes.
BOOKS
Each child is provided with textbooks, stationeries
for drawings, painting and modeling by the school.
Parents are billed for such items.
E-Friendly School
Chrisland Nursery and Primary school is modern,
e-friendly school. Our classes are commodious
and class session with the children and usually
ICT-driven. Interactive board as well as computer
based training equipment is available in all the
classrooms for effective teaching and learning.
